Video Course: Teaching Methods that Improve Learner Concept Formation

Anne Williams

The most important thing we can do as massage instructors teaching in foundational massage programs is improve learner concept formation by teaching level 1 of the cognitive domain effectively. In level 1 of the ELAP Learning Taxonomy the focus is on terms and concepts. Great teachers consciously build learners’ mental representations of basic massage concepts and anchor them in memory. If you want your students to thrive in your classes, pass the MBLEx on the first try, and think critically to plan effective sessions for clients, you’ll want to learn these methods.
