It’s a possibility that Georgia could make a reality! But the whole idea may be in peril and unraveling if lawmakers don’t hear from you—and fast! House Bill 839 (HB 839) would implement the Interstate Massage Compact (IMpact), simplifying interstate massage therapy practice and regulation with the goal of reducing unnecessary burdens related to licensure by endorsement or reciprocity. Essentially, HB 839 will make it easier for licensed massage therapists to work in other states.
ADVOCATE NOW
ABMP is in favor of HB 839 because it ultimately increases licensure mobility of lawfully practicing massage therapists in IMpact-participating states once at least seven states pass the IMpact bill. We need your help to reduce long processing times and ensure safe, competent, and reliable massage therapy services to the public before HB 839 is tabled.
