Media Contact: Paul Slomski, Development Manager pslomski@massagetherapyfoundation.org 847-905-1635 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Massage Therapy Foundation Selects Team of Runners for 2013 Boston Marathon The Massage Therapy Foundation (MTF) is excited to announce its team of runners who will be participating in the 2013 Boston Marathon to raise money on behalf of the MTF for research, education and community service.  The runners selected are Kathy Borsuk, co-owner of Hillsborough Massage Therapy, LLC and member of the American Massage Therapy Association; Tom Heidenberger, President and owner of Bon Vital, Inc.;  and Les Sweeney, President of Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals . The MTF’s Boston Marathon bibs were acquired through the John Hancock Non-Profit Bib program. Each year John Hancock donates guaranteed entries to select nonprofits, which use these entries to recruit individual runners to raise money for their cause.  Last year, John Hancock nonprofit runners raised more than $6.8 million for over 121 different local organizations.  For 28 years John Hancock has been the principal sponsor of the Boston Marathon®.  The Company’s continued support of the Boston Athletic Association, which has directed the race since 1897, ensures that the race will continue to be a world-class event and an important facet of Boston’s culture and heritage. The MTF Running for Research team of runners will be raising money and creating awareness for the massage industry over the next five months.  Each team member will be sharing their story and tracking their progress on the Massage Therapy Foundation team webpage.  “We are so excited to be a part of the John Hancock Non-Profit Bib program this year,” said MTF Board President Ruth Werner, “massage plays a supportive role in the training and recovery of events like long distance running, and John Hancock recognizes that, employing a team of massage therapists to work with their elite runners every year during the Boston Marathon.  This will help us create a lot of awareness and raise money for our efforts.” On April 15, 2013, the MTF team and nearly 27,000 runners will start the running of the 117th Boston Marathon®.  The 26.2-mile route extends from Hopkinton, Ashland, Framingham, Natick, Wellesley, Newton, Brookline and Boston.  The Boston Marathon ranks behind only the Super Bowl as the largest single day sporting event in the world (in terms of media coverage). More than 1,100 media members, representing more than 250 outlets, receive credentials annually. Approximately 500,000 spectators line the 26.2-mile course annually, making the Marathon New England's most widely viewed sporting event, according to estimates by police and public safety officials from the eight cities and towns along the route. About The Massage Therapy Foundation The Massage Therapy Foundation is a 501(c)3 public charity, with a mission to advance the knowledge and practice of massage by supporting scientific research, education, and community service. US Department of Education 150% Rule Update

A federal judge has granted a preliminary injunction that halts the enforcement of the US Department of Education’s new Bare Minimum Rule, also known as the “100% rule,” until the court takes further action. This is the first step in what could be a lengthy battle to ultimately delay enforcement of the rule, providing schools more time to adjust their programmatic standards, or overturn the rule altogether.
