How do we “embrace the suck” during a pandemic? Join us in this latest episode of The ABMP Podcast’s series “Conversations in Quarantine” as Brené Brown Dare to Lead certified instructor Amy Andrews McMaster walks us through a discussion on vulnerability, braving tough times, removing our armor, and finding our call to courage.

“‘Embracing the suck’ is really about embracing uncertainty, risk, and emotional exposure,” McMaster says. “It's choosing courage, even when it's hard and uncomfortable. We know based on research that vulnerability, surprisingly, is actually our most accurate measure of courage. So, embracing the suck, is how you get to courage. It's through embracing vulnerability.”

In this podcast, you’ll learn about:

  • Improving self-awareness and reducing comparative suffering
  • Maintaining and increasing empathy during a crisis
  • Establishing a call to courage
  • Dismantling emotional armor
