Open Board Seat and Request for Comments on Rule Changes in Washington State

ABMP's Government Relations Director Laura Embleton was recently in Washington for the recent meeting of the Board of Massage, which has several updates:

The board currently has an open seat and is accepting applications here. If you apply, or are interested in applying, please notify ABMP at gr@abmp.com.

The board is currently reviewing rules and regulations, and the most up-to-date information on the rules in progress is available here. Members should submit comments on any of the rules in progress to massagerulescomments@doh.wa.gov, and please cc gr@abmp.com on any comments. When reviewing proposed amendments, note that the red underlined language is new proposed language. Language with a strikethrough is proposed deleted language. Feel free to make comments that amend the language further, or comment on the amended language.

The next Washington Board of Massage meeting will take place on March 8 at the Kent Regional Office at 20425 72nd Ave. S., Building 2, Suite 310, Room 3019 in Kent, WA. (The meeting will likely take place at 9:00 a.m., but check the website closer to the meeting for the most up-to-date time.) The board will be discussing revising definitions at this meeting, and there will be another meeting on April 12 in either Tumwater, WA, or Kent, WA, to review all proposed amendments before a formal filing for rules changes.
