Massage & Bodywork Wins Appreciation Award from Science of Massage Institute

Massage & Bodywork magazine and former editor-in-chief Leslie A. Young, PhD, were awarded the Science of Massage Institute’s Annual Appreciation Award for 2017 for outstanding work in the massage therapy and bodywork fields.

Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals and Massage & Bodywork magazine are honored to be recognized for this award. The full text of the announcement from the editorial board of the Journal of Massage Science is below.

“Congratulations to the Editorial Board and Leslie A. Young, Editor-in-Chief of Massage & Bodywork magazine for receiving JMS’s Annual Appreciation Award for 2017!

Our Editorial Board thinks that Massage & Bodywork continues to be the most valuable and scientifically grounded massage publication in the United States. This magazine publishes six times per year and it has print and digital versions. Each issue of Massage & Bodywork is greatly illustrated and it provides video illustrations in its digital version.

However, what makes Massage & Bodywork different is its content. This is what a professional publication should look like. It’s supposed to lift readers and educate them to make them better therapists so they can help more people. Massage & Bodywork offers a great variety of topics, from clinical cases to theoretical pieces to various techniques and articles which touch issues in massage therapy no other publications have mentioned or are even aware of.

The articles are well written and nicely illustrated, which helps readers better understand and implement the articles’ content. Overall Massage & Bodywork does a great job and has significantly contributed to the further development of the massage therapy profession in the USA.

We wish for the Editorial Board of Massage & Bodywork to continue to be agile, curious, and constantly challenging their readers! Our congratulations for a job well done!”
