AFMTE Shares 2016 Candidates for Election

The Alliance for Massage Therapy Education (AFMTE) announced they will select five seats for their board of directors for 2016 through an online election process, rather than from the floor of the conference, as they have done in the past. There is no AFMTE conference this year.

Minnesota Regulation Clarification

To clarify our recent Minnesota legislative update, although HF 644 and SF 1310, the proposed voluntary state credentialing bills for massage therapists, failed in the Minnesota state legislature, Minnesota Statute 146A, which has been the law in Minnesota for over 15 years, remains in place.

Classes in Exempt Modalities Will Not Be Accepted for PA Continuing Education After 2017

The Pennsylvania State Board of Massage Therapy has issued a statement that classes in practices/modalities that are excluded from licensure under section 13 of the Pennsylvania Massage Therapy Law will not be accepted as continuing education (CE) after the 2017 license renewal. Such classes will be acceptable toward your 24 hours of CE when you renew your massage license in 2017, but they will not be accepted as CE for your 2019 renewal, or thereafter.
