MINDBODY Introduces New Mobile App

MINDBODY, a leading provider of cloud-based business management software for the wellness industry, has launched a new mobile app to help people live healthier, more active lifestyles.

The MINDBODY app uses location and past activities to help people find, book, and pay for personalized wellness experiences—from acupuncture to cycling, circuit training to massage, and martial arts to yoga—in their community or on the road.


World Massage Conference Replay

If you registered for the 2015 World Massage Conference, you have access to all of the replays from the program you registered for, including the ABMP-sponsored Back Pain Summit, until February 29—that’s more than 40 hours of online continuing education, including techniques, business skills, self-care, research, and ethics.

Alaska Massage Therapy License Applications Are Available

As we previously informed our members, Alaska House Bill 328 was signed into law on August 11, 2014. The law requires that all massage therapists practicing in Alaska must have a state-issued massage license. The law went into effect on July 15, 2015; however, because the Alaska State Board of Massage Therapists has not yet issued the regulations that will govern the licensing process, we do not know what rules will apply and, therefore, we have not been able to adequately inform members about the process.




ABMP Mailing Three Golden Tickets to ABMP School Forums

Massage and bodywork schools across the country should be on the lookout for the 2016 ABMP Education mailer containing information about upcoming events, programs, and support for massage educators. This year, three lucky schools will also receive a special surprise—a golden ticket offering one free registration to an ABMP School Forum.


Coalition of National Massage Therapy Organizations Meets

The Coalition of National Massage Therapy Organizations met December 4 in Chicago to continue dialog on a variety of issues facing the massage therapy profession. The coalition comprises seven organizations participating on an equal footing, in an atmosphere of mutual participation and respect. Two representatives from each of the organizations participated in the daylong conversation.


Massage Therapy Foundation Extends Abstract Submission Deadline

The Massage Therapy Foundation has extended the deadline for abstract submissions for the 2016 International Massage Therapy Research Conference (IMTRC). The new deadline for poster and presentation abstracts is January 4, 2016, at 11:50 p.m. CST.

The IMTRC will take place May 12–15, 2016, at the Renaissance Seattle Hotel.
